The Tasty Athiest ….

An atheist was taking a peaceful walk through the woods. "What majestic trees! What powerful rivers! What beautiful animals!" he said to himself.

As he was walking alongside the river, he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him.
He turned to look. To his surprise, there he saw a seven foot tall grizzly bear charging through the woods towards him.

He ran away as fast as he could up the path. He then looked back over his shoulder, and saw
that the bear was easily closing in on him. After a few more strides, the athiest looked over his shoulder again, and the bear was even closer.

Looking backward, he tripped and fell to the ground. He then rolled over to pick himself back up.
The bear right above him! The grizzly was reaching down for him with his left paw, while raising his right paw upward to strike a blow.

At that instant the Atheist cried out: "Oh my God!..."

Time stopped. The bear froze. The forest became utterly silent.  Then a bright white light shone down upon the man, and a great voice came out of the sky:

"You have denied my existence for all of these years, you have taught others I don't exist, you even have credited my creation to a cosmic accident. Do you now expect me to help you out of this predicament? Am I now to count you as a true believer?"

The atheist looked directly into the light, "It would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask You to treat me as a Christian, but perhaps could you make the BEAR a Christian?"

"Very well," said the voice.

The light vanished. The sounds of the forest resumed. Then, the hungry bear dropped his right paw from above his head. Instead, he brought both paws together and bowed his giant head and spoke thusly:

"Lord, bless this food, which I am about to receive from thy bounty, through Christ our Lord, Amen."
